Today we celebrate the death of our Lord Jesus, Who willingly gave His life for us all. Not everyone believes this, of course, but it doesn't change the truth of the matter. The truth is this: Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners. We have all sinned--we have Adam and Eve to thank for that, but we have Jesus to thank for atoning for our sin. It amazes me to think that God made a beautiful world and put people on it to care for it and told them not to eat of one little tree. One tree. Now it wasn't the tree's fault for being there that was the problem. It was the fact that God told Adam and Eve not to eat from one tree. But the tempter came, wanting to get back at God for kicking him out of heaven. What a desirable revenge of hatred and anger! I often wonder if satan knew that all of mankind would be infected with his nature when Adam and Eve listened to him.
One tree in the Garden of Eden made all the difference to mankind. One tree on Golgotha also made all the difference to mankind for it was on this one tree the Savior of the world would hang and die yet 3 days later would be resurrected from the dead, the first one to ever conquer death! Although it was our fault that sin entered the world, God was willing to take the blame and make a way back to Him. He did this with one tree also.
Isn't it amazing that one tree started it all and one tree ended it all! Hallelujah!
